I suppose you could make the argument that GT is an abbreviation for "Giants". Much more likely that Mike is just lawst and mistakenly using the T to abbreviate stadium.

Around the time same as when Mike was a kid, the NY football Giants started to play the GT2 defense. This type of defense was called GT because the defense was so aggressive, it felt like you were getting run over (thus, the GT ...the stock symbol for Goodyear Tire & Rubber). The 2 represented the # of safeties in this defensive alignment. The GT2 defense was so popular, it spawned many copy cat defenses over the years. For example, the Tampa 2.
