Great day for the sport and the nation of Canada. Bettman cannot be happy and is disingenuous if he thinks this is an anomaly. True, the Quebec arena needs to be complete, but franchises are bleeding money and the Canadian dollar is once competitive with the US dollar again.
Time to break out my old Jets jersey with the Goals for Kids patch. Doesn't seem like they'll get the name back (like Washington didn't get the Senators name back in baseball) but that won't temper the enthusiasm up north.
Ultimately, I'd move Nashville to the east and throw Minnesota to the Central. That would put four Canadian franchises in the same division, like the old Smythe was. I can't think of another good geographical mix right now.
